Sixty two of Wexford’s most innovative and resilient businesses from retailers to manufacturing have been announced as finalists in the 2011 Wexford Business Awards in partnership with Wexford County Council, the Environmental Protection Agency, Wexford County Enterprise Board and Wexford Chamber. Businesses shortlisted this year range from start-ups to family businesses and well-known companies including retailers, manufacturers, training providers, tourism operators and tech businesses.
The awards aim to recognise those individuals and businesses that represent entrepreneurialism, innovation, diversity and the talent needed to drive a business in today’s challenging environment.
Commenting on the quality and diversity of finalists, Madeleine Quirke, CEO, Wexford Chamber said, “The economic climate continues to present Wexford based businesses with unprecedented challenges, this however has not stopped them from delivering success.

Shortlisted finalists now prepare to make their presentations in person before an independent judging panel on Monday, 16th May. Judges are looking for positive leadership, sound business performance and growth, coupled with customer focus, staff engagement and a commitment to green business practices.
Winners in each of the 14 award categories and the overall winner of Wexford Business of the Year Award, sponsored by Wexford County Council, will be announced at a black tie gala awards ceremony on Friday, 17th June in Whites of Wexford. A keynote address will be delivered at this year’s awards by Tom Savage, Director - The Communications Clinic and Chairman with RTE. Tom is Ireland’s leading expert in Emergency Communications Consultancy, advising Government Departments and multi-national corporations on the management of crises.
Local morning radio host Alan Corcoran from South East Radio will perform master of ceremonies.
