The Business Angel Partnership matches private investors with pre-screened investment opportunities in start-up, early stage and developing businesses. As such, the partnership can be of enormous benefit to investors, to companies, and to professional advisors such as accountants and solicitors.

The Business Angel Partnership is the new national business angel network in the Republic of Ireland bringing together the private equity activities of Enterprise Ireland, InterTrade Ireland and the Irish Business and Innovation Centres.

A key objective for the Business Angel Partnership is to develop and foster the growth of private equity and business angel activity in Ireland. We do this by matching private investors with pre-screened investment opportunities in start-up, early stage and developing businesses.

In this way we alleviate the ongoing difficulty faced by early-stage and growing companies who find it difficult to raise funds on reasonable terms. We also offer alternative investment options to investors interested in getting involved in companies with growth potential.

We offer a nationwide business matching service with offices in Dublin, Waterford, Cork and Galway. Our role is to act as facilitators not investment advisors, and we recommend that both sides take professional advice before making any investment-related decisions.

The Business Angel Partnership is managed by Dublin Business Innovation Centre Limited as part of its ongoing support to start-up and developing enterprises.

A brief description of the matching process and how it works:

The Business Angel Partnership works on a confidential registration basis. All investors, companies and advisors pre-register and provide us with specific information and assurances.

Investors and advisors have immediate access to ambitious companies with growth potential. These investment opportunities come from our immediate sponsors, from our partners and from other sources.

Companies know that details of their particular investment opportunity will be seen by people who are actively looking to invest in private companies. These investors bring business experience in addition to the financial resources that they may invest.

Our matching activity is conducted in a controlled manner:

• Investors are contacted directly when we identify a particularly suitable match.
• Investors and advisors initially see a brief 8-10 line outline of the business and the investment opportunity
• If interested, they can access a more detailed summary giving key information about the business and the investment opportunity.
• Requests for additional information and specific questions are forwarded to companies.
• Details are also available on our website for a minimum period of 90 days.

The Business Angel Partnership arranges and facilitates initial meetings between investors, companies and advisors.

We continue to monitor and facilitate exchanges between all the parties involved. If requested we are available to get involved at any stage.

The Business Angel Partnership also creates further opportunities for companies, investors and advisors to network by hosting seminars on topics of related interest.
