The CÉIM (Commercialising Entrepreneurial Ideas and Management Development) programme 2011 is once again inviting applications from people who wish to commercialise their knowledge or technology idea and take it to the next stage. The programme begins in June 2011 and closing date for applications is 13 May 2011. It runs at the Letterkenny Institute of Technology (LYIT) and Institute of Technology, Sligo (IT Sligo) campuses.

From the 20th April, Ireland joins other E.U. countries, such as Finland, Germany, the Netherlands and Belgium by offering an Enterprise Exchange Programme for new entrepreneurs. Funded by the E.U. Commission, the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs Programme enables 'new' entrepreneurs in Ireland, who are in the early stages of business development, to be matched with experienced entrepreneurs abroad.

The Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation Mr Richard Bruton T.D. yesterday began an Enterprise Ireland trade and education mission of 22 Irish companies to India. The Minister will then travel to Saudi Arabia to support an education mission of 13 leading Irish universities and institutes of technology. During the mission, Minister Bruton will meet key Indian political leaders and corporate decision makers to endorse and promote Irish companies and Irish products and services.

An Enterprise Exchange Programme "with a difference" is being launched in Dublin next week for the first time, enabling new Irish entrepreneurs to work abroad with experienced entrepreneurs in other EU countries. Under the EU-wide business support scheme, called the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs Programme (EYE), Irish companies can also host new entrepreneurs from abroad for up to six months, gaining market knowledge, fresh ideas and key skills for growth.

Secondary school entrepreneurs from Dublin, Carlow, Cavan and Clare gathered at Croke Park this weekend, to announce details for the Student Enterprise Awards National Final next Thursday. Next Thursday (April 14th), teenagers from every county, aged from thirteen to eighteen, will be competing at the biggest student enterprise competition of its kind in the country, which is run by the County and City Enterprise Boards.
