Galway-based sales management software company, OnePageCRM, has announced that it will create 12 new jobs, as part of a €575,000 investment programme supported by Enterprise Ireland and other investors. The new hires will be in engineering roles for web and mobile technology, digital marketing and customer support. OnePageCRM is a cloud-based sales management application for SMEs with a worldwide proven method to greatly boost sales.

Two new start-up companies from NUI Galway have been announced as winners of funding from Enterprise Ireland via its Competitive Feasibility Fund. Westway Health Ltd. is developing antimicrobial products for the dairy sector, while Aquila Bioscience Ltd. is developing its own therapeutic products in the human and veterinary space. Funding of €25,000 for each company will help develop their ideas into sustainable businesses focused on export.

Supporting Women Entrepreneurs Mentoring and Business Seminar is now open for registration. The event, launched by Hildegard Naughton, will take place In the Salthill Hotel on the 14th September 2012 from 11.30pm to 5.00pm. This is a new initiative between the Galway Chamber of Commerce and BPW Galway (Business and Professional Women of Galway).

An innovative, practical based enterprise training and mentoring programme for people who plan to start up their own businesses or develop their existing one is to commence in the GMIT Innovation in Business Centre (IiBC) in Castlebar in October following the success of the two previous programmes. South West Mayo Development Company will be providing support with the development of the programme.

Minister for Research and Innovation, Sean Sherlock TD, has urged businesses to avail of the opportunity to attend a Government sponsored free seminar, ‘Building a Business on Your Ideas’, to be held in the The Ardilaun Hotel, Taylors Hill, Galway City on Thursday 21st April 2011. The seminar, organised by the Patents Office, is for small business-owners, entrepreneurs, inventors and startup companies in Galway and surrounding counties.
