Green WorksGreen Works, the free education programme for jobseekers, has announced dates for more than 50 new courses taking place across Ireland in 2011. The courses, which focus on opportunities within the emergent Green Economy, will take place in the Green Works Hubs in Dublin, Cork, Sligo and Tipperary between January and June of this year.

SF LogoThe Small Firms Association (SFA) has released the findings of its Autumn Business Sentiment Survey. Commenting on the figures, SFA Acting Director, Avine McNally stated, “sentiment levels for the current business environment have improved in this quarter and markedly so when compared to this time last year, however, confidence is weak among owner-managers and there are still challenges which they face.”

County and City Enterprise BoardsThe Taoiseach, Brian Cowen TD, has announced a €3.3 million funding boost for the country’s network of county and city enterprise boards (CEBs) which will be paid out before the end of the year creating more than 450 jobs. The stimulus will be channelled through the CEBs to help new businesses get off the ground and support existing ones in creating and protecting jobs.
