UCCThere is a Starting a Business as a Graduate session happening on 17 May at University College Cork (UCC) in collaboration with Cork City Enterprise Board. This will be an interactive session on ideas generation, how to assess business ideas and take the next steps to develop ideas toward launching a new business.

This programme is suitable for graduates who:

Would like to come up with a new business idea but are unsure how to go about it
Would like to set-up a new business but are unsure of the initial steps to take

During the session participants will:

Understand what makes a winning business idea

Examine trends and new business ideas
Get direction on where to go with their business idea – what steps to take
Get information on the support infrastructure available to new businesses.  E.g advice, training, mentoring, funding opportunities

The session will be coordinated by Cork City Enterprise Board and UCC staff.  Enterprise Board staff will be on hand throughout to work with graduates in groups and provide information on government agency and other supports available to business start ups. The workshop element will be facilitated by Joanne Hession.  Joanne founded QED (Quality Education Development) in 1998 and is well positioned to advise and train people on entering new businesses and growing their businesses successfully.
