Venture ProgrammeThe University of Limerick has commenced the search for a batch of start-up businesses to enroll in the 2010 / 2011 Venture Programme.  The programme has been developed to assist businesses and entrepreneurs get started and grow to become the economic drivers of the future. Speaking at the Programme Launch Professor Brian Fitzgerald said "we have had a really successful year of spin-outs and technology commercialisation, we want to maintain this translational research momentum through the launch of a programme which reaches outside the campus".

The UL Venture Programme will allow successful applicants to benefit from mentoring and presentations by experts at the Kemmy Business School at UL as well as from a number of leading Irish business people. Mentors with expertise in marketing, finance, personnel, engineering and science will provide guidance and experience, working with the participants to shape their ideas into scaleable businesses.

Running from October 2010 to May 2011 the programme will accelerate the process of transforming your idea / technology into a business. The programme will provide:

Training workshops to enhance decision making skills and project management 
Customised review  and feedback of key business milestones and assumptions 
One-to-one mentor sessions 
Enterprise Agency support & Access
Business Model Testing

The course participants will be drawn form the UL community with suitable external candidates eligible.

The intake will be limited to 10 businesses. The main entry criteria for applicants will include demonstrating an ability to form a scaleable and knowledge intensive business. Applications close on Friday September 24th.

You need JavaScript enabled to view it . Joint applications are accepted where there is more than one person involved in a particular business. In this case a primary contact should be nominated. The programme will cost €350 per business selected.

Selection will be based on application forms received, some applicants called before an interview panel. Applicants must be available for interview during the week of October 4 - 8th.
